We are Kobanzame, a vintage shop in an old wooden house in Kawagoe. Now and then a piece arrives that makes people look twice and ask, "What was this before?" This is one of them. Look closely: the pendant is a spoon.
Its past life
The handle still carries an engraved floral pattern, probably from the decorative cutlery popular around the 1980s. It isn't from a famous maker, but the engraving suggests it once brightened someone's everyday table.
Its new life
We shaped the spoon into a pendant without erasing the engraving, and paired it with discontinued vintage white-heart beads and a treated deerskin cord. Slide the knot to wear it short at the collar or long down the chest. No two are alike. A one-of-a-kind piece from our GAW line.
Who it's for
Anyone who dislikes wearing the same mass-made accessory as everyone else, and wants one personal mark on a leather jacket or a plain T-shirt.
The next chapter is yours
Nickel silver and leather both deepen in colour with wear. It will look better the longer you live with it.
