We are Kobanzame, a vintage shop in an old wooden house in Kawagoe. Some pieces look like two different garments from the front and the back. This is one of them.
The make
Grained dark brown leather in front, sturdy cloth at the back: a classic work-vest combination. Diamond quilting inside. The buckle at the back lets you take in the waist a little.
Character
The leather has creases and sheen from wear, and the buttons show signs of use. Not a flat new colour: brown comes through as the light changes.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants to add one layer over a white shirt or a sweatshirt and give the silhouette a vertical line, without the formality of a jacket.
